Celtic have rejected a bid from FC Copenhagen defender Erik Sviatchenko.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have rejected a £2.7million bid from Danish side Copenhagen for centre back Erik Sviatchenko – but the player is understood to be keen on a move back to his homeland.
The Bhoys swooped to land Sviatchenko from Danish side Midtjylland in January 2016 as Ronny Deila used his Scandinavian knowledge to snap up the centre back and boost his defensive options.

Now 25, Sviatchenko has made more than 60 appearances for Celtic, but often found himself behind Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata last season, sparking rumours of a possible exit.
The Scottish Sun now report that Celtic have snubbed a £2.7million bid from Copenhagen back in Sviatchenko’s native Denmark, as they chase a much higher fee in order to sell the defender.
However, it’s claimed that Sviatchenko would be interested in a move back to Denmark, meaning that Stale Solbakken’s men may end up returning with a new and improved bid to take the central defender back to his homeland – just over 18 months since he left for Celtic.
The report does though note that, after receiving recent interest from Premier League clubs Leicester and Southampton, Celtic are keen to land a considerable fee for Sviatchenko, potentially hoping that English clubs enter the race for his signature.

Sviatchenko is currently out through injury, and is believed to be back in Denmark resting up from a knee ligament injury ahead of his return to action.
Whilst many assumed that he would be playing his football with Celtic upon returning from injury, Sviatchenko’s future has now been brought into question, with Copenhagen keen to lure him back to Denmark.
