According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have given up on signing Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.
The La Liga giants were linked with the Gunners full-back earlier on this summer as they sought out a replacement for Dani Alves, who departed for Juventus.
Bellerin was thought to be top of their list, according to the Daily Mail, after he has established himself as a Premier League star over the last two years.

A move did not happen, though, as Luis Enrique’s side instead decided to go with Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal in the position.
Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo the manager’s faith in the former, as well as Bellerin’s high asking price, were the two reasons they decided not to pursue a deal for the Spaniard.

They also report that the La Liga champions are unlikely to return in future either, as they will instead look at other options for the position.
According to the report, the club is determined to seek out a young defender that they can mould for the future.
That will likely come as welcome news to Arsenal, who will certainly have been fearing that Barcelona would be making a firm move for their man in future.
