Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish was considering joining Manchester United last summer, but he now prefers Manchester City, according to The Athletic.

The report has claimed interest from Pep Guardiola’s City in Grealish.

The Daily Mail claimed last week that newly-crowned Premier League champions City are planning to make a bid of £100 million for the England international attacking midfielder.

Grealish is one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and was described as “incredible” and “exceptional” by City manager Guardiola previously, as quoted in The Manchester Evening News in February 2020.

The 25-year-old, who can also play as a winger, is reportedly still on the radar of United.

The Express reported this month that the Red Devils are interested in Grealish.

However, you have to ask whether United need Grealish.

After all, Bruno Fernandes is the creator-in-chief at the Red Devils, and he also scores goals.

The 26-year-old scored 18 goals and gave 12 assists in the Premier League this season.

City have a strong attacking unit as well, with Phil Foden emerging as a big player.

One can understand Grealish’s reported desire to join City over United.

The Citizens play lovely, attacking football, they have just won the Premier League and reached the final of the Champions League, and have one of the best managers in the world in Guardiola.
