Ryan Fraser is waiting to see if the likes of Celtic or Arsenal come in for him, despite being close to a Newcastle United move, the Telegraph suggest.
Newcastle thought that they had wrapped up a deal for Fraser, but the deal has been delayed at the last minute.
That is because the Scottish winger is apparently holding out to see if anyone will match Newcastle’s offer, with Arsenal and Celtic among the clubs linked.
Newcastle now could set a deadline for Fraser to make his mind up, as Steve Bruce wants the deal completed sooner rather than later.
Newcastle were apparently one of the first clubs to show an interest in Fraser, and Bruce wants him to arrive at St. James’ Park so he has time to train with his new teammates before the new season starts.
Fraser has apparently told Bruce that a move to Tyneside would appeal as it would move him closer to his family in Scotland, but no official confirmation has been given yet.

If Fraser does join Newcastle he could offer them even more speed on the break.
The winger, who was described as ‘incredible’ by Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe (Sky Sports), could also appeal to Arsenal or Celtic on a free.
Fraser would surely be a starter for Celtic upon arrival, and could also give Mikel Arteta more depth in forward positions if he was to sign.
