Divock Origi is already in ‘advanced talks’ with another club ahead of the expiration of his Liverpool contract.
The Belgium international is out of contract at Anfield this summer and it has previously been reported that it’s now ‘impossible‘ for the striker to remain at Liverpool.
Origi has an automatic extension clause based on appearances, but he cannot hit that number during the remainder of the campaign.
However, it looks like he could be landing on his feet.
Speculation is rife that AC Milan are winning the race to sign the 28-year-old hitman.
And according to The Express, the Liverpool attacker is in advanced negotiations with the Italian giants, who are leading the way in Serie A right now.
The only thing that Origi hasn’t agreed with the Rossoneri yet is wages, according to the same report.
Many Liverpool supporters will be disappointed to see him go – including Jurgen Klopp, who labelled him an ‘incredible striker’ earlier this season following a last-minute winner at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Okay so he wasn’t exactly Robbie Fowler, but the former Lille forward certainly scored more than his fair share of massive goals for the Reds, most notably in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.
On that occasion, Origi netted twice in a 4-0 victory, and another in the win over Tottenham in the final.
He’s developed a reputation as a man for the big occasion in recent years and one way or the other, his absence will be felt at Liverpool.
