Clubs in China are however set to push hard for his transfer before their window shuts next month.
Bordeaux’s Brazilian forward Malcom
Tottenham Hotspur were one team heavily linked with the signature of Bordeaux’s brilliant talent Malcom. The Brazilian star has been catching the eye with his performances in France and Spurs are one of many teams interested in his signature.
A report in France has now suggested how far Spurs were from meeting his valuation. Le10 Sport is suggesting that Tottenham’s final proposal regarding a potential deal for Malcolm amounted to around €50 million (£44.4 million). That fell short of the valuation Bordeaux have for the player, which stands currently at €60 million (£53.3 million) so Tottenham were about €10 million (£8.9 million) short of the valuation Bordeaux currently have for Malcom.

It would have been a deal that topped the record transfer fee they paid for Davinson Sanchez in the summer to become a club record deal.
Arsenal were also keen on the player, whilst Tottenham ended up bringing in another Brazilian attacker from France – with Lucas Moura arriving from PSG.
The same report also claims interest in Moura from the Far East., with Chinese clubs wanting him before March and preparing obscene financial packaged to tempt him into a move. However, Bordeaux are said to be clear, Malcom will not leave before June at which point they will be ready to discuss a move with Tottenham – or indeed any other suitable parties.

Spurs fans will no doubt hope this is true, considering the impact a player of Malcom’s talents could have in North London.
Just as long as that fee comes down a little, and China doesn’t ruin the party, Tottenham fans will hope this deal can go ahead in the summer.
