Aston Villa are reportedly ready to sell striker Ross McCormack this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa intend to offload Ross McCormack on a permanent basis this summer – and Jonathan Kodjia is allegedly attracting Premier League interest.
Villa splashed the cash to land McCormack last summer, with BBC Sport reporting that the Scot cost a whopping £12million having hit 42 goals in 100 games for Fulham.
Whilst he was seen as a proven Championship attacker to help Villa return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, the 30-year-old has endured a miserable first season at Villa Park.
McCormack scored just three goals in 20 appearances for Villa, notching just the one assist, before being farmed out on loan to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest in January – and he has registered only one goal and one assist in seven games.
Now, the Daily Mail report that manager Steve Bruce – who was left fuming with McCormack in January over his bizarre absence from a training session due to his electric gates being broken – is now ready to sell the striker this summer in a move that will surprise very few Villa fans.
Whilst McCormack has struggled, Villa’s other big-money summer addition in attack has thrived, with Jonathan Kodjia starring following his £11million rising to £15million move (The Guardian) from Bristol City.

The Ivorian international, 27, has smashed 18 goals in 32 Championship games this season, and having hit seven goals in his last seven games, it’s claimed that Premier League teams are keen to land him.
Strong, pacey and lethal in front of goal, Kodjia’s goal record is certainly impressive, but he has been accused of being too selfish in possession, and that would have to change if he is to reach and succeed in the Premier League.
Clubs like Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United look set to be in the market for a new striker this summer, and Kodjia could fit the bill – but having spent so much money on him less than a year ago, Villa certainly won’t let their star striker go without a fight.
