According to The Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Matija Sarkic in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Wolves are keen securing the services of the 22-year-old when his current contract at Premier League rivals Villa runs out this summer.

The report has added that the Wanderers then plan to send the Montenegro international goalkeeper out on loan.

The Express & Star has added that Sarkic has not been offered a new contract at Villa, and that although he has offers from a few other clubs, he prefers a move to Wolves.

Good signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers?

Sarkic has been on the books of Villa since 2015, but the youngster has failed to break into the Villa first team.

A switch to Wolves would be a good move for the Montenegro international goalkeeper, and if he impresses during his loan spell next season, then he could get a chance in Nuno’s first team in the coming years.

Wolves are an ambitious club and could end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
