West Ham United are leading the chase for in-demand striker Callum Wilson, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that West Ham want to sign Wilson from Bournemouth for £18 million.

Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and Newcastle United all are reportedly interested in the 28-year-old striker, but he is ‘leaning towards a switch to the Hammers’, according to the report.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Wilson made 32 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Bournemouth this past season, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in the process.

The England international made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Cherries during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for West Ham United?

Wilson may not have had a good season in 2019-20 as Bournemouth got relegated to the Championship, but he is a very good striker who would make West Ham better and more potent in attack.

Sebastien Haller scored just seven goals and provided one assist in 32 Premier League matches for West Ham in 2019-20, according to WhoScored, and the Hammers need to have a striker who does better than that.
