West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans is looking to join Manchester City.
According to The Mirror, West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans is holding out for a move to Manchester City despite interest from a host of clubs.
Evans, 29, made his name with Manchester United, winning three league titles whilst making nearly 200 appearances for the Red Devils.
In 2015, Evans moved on by securing a move to West Bromwich Albion, and he has been a regular for the Baggies ever since with almost 100 appearances to his name.
The Northern Irishman has impressed at The Hawthorns, but couldn’t stop West Brom from suffering relegation to the Championship this season.
Evans is now available for just £3million thanks to a release clause in his deal upon relegation, and The Mirror recently claimed that Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester City, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all keen.
However, it’s now claimed that Evans wants to ignore all that interest in order to secure a move back to Manchester, but this time joining City after major interest from Pep Guardiola last summer.
City did though sign a centre back in January as Aymeric Laporte arrived in a club-record move from Athletic Bilbao, and with John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Vincent Kompany also at the club, it remains to be seen whether City are still keen – even at the bargain price.
