Wolverhampton Wanderers have impressed in their start to life back in the Premier League but they are not going to rest on their laurels.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Nuno Espirito Santo has identified a number of areas where Wolves need to improve with the Black Country giants’ January plans already in full swing.
It is reported, perhaps unsurprisingly, that a new centre-forward is top of Nuno’s wishlist. Raul Jimenez has impressed with his hold up play and work rate but has scored just twice in nine games since arriving on loan from Benfica, while Leo Bonatini is without a league goal since December 2017.
The Liverpool Echo suggested that Wolves could revisit interest in Divock Origi, who rejected a move to Molineux in August.
The Birmingham Mail, meanwhile, adds that Nuno wants a midfield playmaker as well as a back-up right back.
Jonny Otto is capable of playing on the right but he has established himself on the opposite flank, leaving the impressive Matt Docherty with a lack of competition on the right.
Any central midfielder who arrives at Wolves in the New Year, however, would have to rival Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves for a coveted place in the starting XI.
Wolves have barely put a foot wrong in the transfer market in recent years, with their signings help transcend the club.
