Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles wants to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard.

It has been reported that Wolves are in pole position to sign Maitland-Niles from Premier League rivals Arsenal this summer.

The report has added that the 22-year-old – who can operate as a midfielder, winger, full-back or wing-back – is ‘excited by the prospect of working under Nuno Espirito Santo and the increased game time on offer’.

It has been further claimed that personal terms will not be a problem for the youngster, and that Wolves will have to pay Arsenal an initial transfer fee of £20 million.

Good move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles?

Maitland-Niles is a very talented young player who can only get better and improve in the coming years, as he is just 22 years old.

Wolves boss Nuno is a very good manager, and working under him would make the Englishman a better footballer.

The 22-year-old’s versatility would also make him a valuable option for Nuno, who will be aiming for his Wolves team to challenge for the Champions League places in the Premier League table next season.
