West Bromwich Albion are reportedly on the verge of appointing Ian Pearce as their new head of recruitment.

The Mail reports that the Baggies are continuing their backroom restructure that has seen Luke Dowling arrive as the club’s new technical director. And it appears that they are close to making another appointment.
The former Blackburn Rovers and West Ham defender will reportedly be involved with coordinating scouts as the club look for potential targets for Darren Moore’s squad.

Moore will be hoping that the expected appointment reaps instant results. The Baggies have made a very promising start to the new Championship season and are the highest-scoring team in the division.
But no team in the top-half has conceded more goals this term, and Moore could undoubtedly do with the Premier League-winning defender helping to uncover some gems ahead of January.
