Queens Park Rangers are reportedly in talks with Ian Holloway.

According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers have spoken to Ian Holloway about a shock return as the club’s new manager.

The R’s sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink after less than a year in charge of the club on Saturday evening, following a 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest.

The result leaves QPR in 17th place in the Championship table, and owner Tony Fernandes clearly felt that the R’s should be in a better position, and a new manager is expected to arrive over the international break.

A host of names are being linked with the job, but West London Sport report that exploratory talks have been held with former QPR boss Ian Holloway over a shock return to Loftus Road.

Holloway, 53, played for and managed QPR, playing more than 150 games and managing over 250 to become something of a Loftus Road hero, and is now being touted for a return to the club almost 11 years after he left.

The report claims that talks have been held with Holloway, and whilst other names are being mentioned, the notion of a Holloway comeback has unsurprisingly triggered a major reaction on Twitter.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their views on the Holloway rumours, even tweeting owner Fernandes to tell him to bring the Sky Sports pundit back to the club, as he has an existing relationship with the fans and is a much better option than Tim Sherwood.

Others weren’t quite so sure that Holloway is the best man for the job right now, but most fans seem to be supporting the idea – and that will give Fernandes plenty to think about.
