Hull City striker Abel Hernandez could become the latest player to swap the riches of the Premier League for the even greater riches of Chinese football.

Tutto Mercato Web is reporting that a pair of Chinese Super League clubs, Beijing Sinobo Guoan and Tianjin Quanjian, are chasing Hernandez.

The report even says that the Beijing side have tabled an €18 million bid, but that the Tigers are asking for more.

The Uruguayan has scored four goals in 19 appearances in all competition this season and was influential in Hull’s promotion from last year, finding the net 21 times in the league.

He is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Hernandez was signed by Hull in the summer of 2014 for a significant fee but has underwhelmed in the top flight either side of his impressive campaign in the Championship last season.

His contract is up in the summer but Hull have the option of extending it by a year.

Should they choose instead to cash in on the striker they have a week to do so, as the Chinese transfer window will shut on February 28.

But with a number of significant first teamers leaving the club in January, and ongoing injury concerns, it would be a dangerous decision to make.
