Hull City plan to offer Harry Maguire a double-your-money deal to stay at the KCOM Stadium if they stay up, according to a report in Thursday’s Sun Goals pull-out (page 6).

Maguire – who the report claims is valued at £20 million – has been key to Hull’s revival under Portuguese head coach Marco Silva, even captaining the Tigers in recent weeks.

And with his contract due to expire in 14 months’ time, a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the defender, including Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, West Ham United, Southampton and Newcastle United.

It is claimed the Yorkshire side have no chance of keeping Maguire should they succumb to the drop this season, however the Sun reports they will look to tempt him into staying with a new £50,000-a-week deal that would make him the club’s highest earning player after Abel Hernandez.

Having said that, it appears as though Hull will be fighting a losing battle, with Tottenham and Everton said to be at the front of the queue of suitors hoping to land him.

It is claimed the pair have watched Maguire intensely since January, with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly making the signing of a new centre-back a priority and Everton said to be considering alternatives to Burnley’s Michael Keane.
