Hull City apparently have their eyes on Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Hull City are monitoring the progress of Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy.

The former Everton man has impressed at the heart of Rovers’ defence this season, after putting in a number of solid performances.

Duffy has played 33 times for Blackburn this term and he has helped Paul Lambert’s side look very strong at the back.

Blackburn have let in just 31 goals in the Championship so far this season, meaning that they have the best defensive record of any side currently below the play-offs places.

Rovers are understandably keen to keep hold of Duffy, but interest is reportedly rising in his services.

Both Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion have been linked in the Mirror in recent times, but Hull are also reportedly tracking the centre-back’s progress.

The Tigers are currently one of the favourites to achieve promotion from the Championship and they allegedly believe that Duffy could enhance their defensive options.

If Duffy was to move to the KC Stadium, he would have to compete with the likes of Curtis Davies, Michael Dawson and Harry Maguire for a place in Steve Bruce’s starting line-up.
