Tottenham Hotspur were pretty miserable against Leeds United on Saturday.
Ryan Mason’s men were second-best throughout, and got what they deserved in a 3-1 defeat at Elland Road.
Few players came out of the game with any credit, but Hugo Lloris may just have been one of the rare cases.
Lloris made five saves as he was given little protection by his defenders in front of him, and it seems that he was far from happy with their performances.
Football.London claim that Lloris was heard shouting desperately as his back four in the second half, attempting to get them organised and working in harmony.
It didn’t exactly work, with full backs Sergio Reguilon and Serge Aurier both caught way up the pitch for Leeds’ third goal.
Goalkeepers have to be pretty vocal anyway, but that Lloris was constantly trying to organise the defenders in front of him suggests that he pretty disgruntled.
Eric Dier endured a nightmare too, and Lloris was probably sick of facing Leeds and their relentless attacking with little protection.
Now 34, Lloris has seen it all with Tottenham… well, except silverware. In almost nine years at Spurs, he’s yet to win anything.
Few could blame him if he wanted to leave and pursue trophies elsewhere – especially with such kamikaze defending in front of him.
