Huddersfield Town are leading the race for reported Newcastle United target and Sunderland forward Josh Maja, according to The Daily Star (print edition, page 42, Saturday, January 5, 2019).

It has been reported that Crystal Palace, Burnley, Preston North End and Bristol City are also interested in signing Maja from Sunderland in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Newcastle United are monitoring the situation of the 20-year-old forward, who has turned down a contract offer from the Black Cats, according to Sunderland owner Stewart Donald.

Leaving Sunderland

Maja is a very talented and promising young forward, and there is no surprise that the likes of Huddersfield, Newcastle and Palace are (reportedly) interested in the youngster.
