David Wagner wants to leave Huddersfield Town – if the Terriers fail to win promotion this season, The Sun reports [17 May Goals pullout, page 6].
Wagner’s side must beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tonight to set up a final date with Reading at Wembley.
But Wagner, who snubbed an approach from Wolfsburg earlier in the campaign, is said to be eyeing his next move – with Hoffenheim allegedly keen.
And according to The Sun, Huddersfield will struggle to hold on to the former United States international – although chairman Dean Hoyle is determined to keep him out of a rival Championship side’s clutches, with Middlesbrough and Norwich City both mentioned.

The same publication reported last week that Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson is having second thoughts about appointing Steve Agnew on a full-time basis, after the Boro caretaker won one of his 10 games in temporary charge – culminating in the Teessiders’ relegation.
Norwich are also looking for a new boss, having parted company with Alex Neil in March. The Canaries recently hired Huddersfield’s Stuart Webber as their new sporting director, prompting speculation about Wagner following the 34-year-old to Carrow Road.
