Jeanvier, who was named the best defender in France’s second tier in 2016/17, has also attracted interest from Fulham but would be understandably more keen to play at a higher level.
The 25-year-old joined Reims from Lille in a £425,000 deal in the summer of 2016, but only signed a two-year deal upon in his arrival giving Huddersfield more bargaining power in any potential deal.

Jeanvier has the ability to play as both a left-back and a central defender, and David Wagner views the Frenchman as the ideal recruit to bolster his options at the back.
The former Nancy youth player made 30 appearances in all competitions for Reims last term, scoring three goals, but has played the majority of his career in Ligue 2 and has limited top flight experience.
