Huddersfield Town are getting ready to make an offer for Auxerre midfielder Brahim Konate after he asked to leave the Ligue 2 club, according to talkSPORT.
Belgian side Zulte Waregem have already made an initial bid for the 21-year-old, which was rejected, and now Huddersfield are considering entering the race for his signature.
Zulte themselves have not given up hope of signing Konate themselves, however, while fellow Belgian First Division A outfit Standard Liege are also thought to be on the verge of making contact with the player’s representatives.
The midfield enforcer came through the ranks at Auxerre and broke into the first team in 2015, making 56 appearances in all competitions since.

It now seems as though Konate is ready to test himself at a different level, though, and the fact he wants to leave the Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps will act as encouragement to the Terriers in their pursuit – even if they will have to ward off interest from Belgium.
David Wagner is keen to do his transfer business as early as possible this summer as his newly promoted side prepare for their first ever season in the Premier League and first in the top flight since 1972.
