Huddersfield in talks about signing Terence Kongolo from Monaco for a fee between £13.1m and £17.5m.

Kongolo enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Terriers in 2017/18 after joining from the Ligue 1 club in January and playing 17 matches in all competitions.

Having recently signed a new three-year contract himself, manager David Wagner is now keen to make the defender his fourth signing of the summer.
Huddersfield have already taken up the option to sign goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and right-back Florent Hadergjonaj on a permanent basis, while Ben Hamer is joining the Yorkshire club from Leicester City as a free agent.

There was no buying option written into Kongolo’s deal when he arrived at the John Smith’s Stadium, but it is believed it will cost between £13.1m and £17.5m to land the 24-year-old.
This will be an increase on the previous club record fee for a new player, which currently stands at the £11.4m (BBC) paid to Montpellier last summer for Steve Mounie.
