Eddie Howe has reportedly been left impressed by Newcastle United teenager Lucas De Bolle, who made the first-team bench over the weekend against Aston Villa.
According to the Chronicle, the Magpies manager has been pleased with how the Scottish-born midfielder has conducted himself at Darsley Park, with the 19-year-old winning a spot with the senior squad on Sunday for the first time in his career.
De Bolle, who has a Belgian father, is yet to play a single minute of professional football, yet the teenager has been impressive in training in recent weeks and has now caught the eye of Howe.
The youngster was named amongst the substitutes as Newcastle ground out a 1-0 win against Villa, making it three victories in a row for the Toon and lifting the northeast giant away from the relegation zone.
And whilst De Bolle failed to make his debut, it is likely that this could come later this season if the midfielder continues to impress Howe in training, with the youngster a boyhood Newcastle supporter who has been at the club since the age of 12.
De Bolle recently told the club’s official website about training with the seniors: “Training with the first-team has been valuable experience, being around them in training sessions but also in the gym and seeing how they work.
“You also see how they talk and think in video meetings too and it’s been great to learn from those experiences.”
De Bolle could become next Newcastle prospect to make the leap

Newcastle have an incredible history of bringing through players from the academy and into the first-team fold, and for De Bolle, the Scottish-born playmaker could be the latest name to do just that for the Magpies.
With Howe already liking what he sees from the youngster in training, the former AFC Bournemouth manager could hand De Bolle his Newcastle debut in the coming weeks if the teenager continues to impress behind the scenes.
