Tottenham Hotspur are tracking AS Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, but he is not a priority for the club right now, according to The Guardian.

It has been reported that Tottenham’s hierarchy consider Zaniolo as ‘a considerable prospect’ who would succeed in the Premier League in part because of his physical strength.

However, according to the report, the 21-year-old is not a priority for Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho this summer.

It has been further claimed that Spurs were wiling to pay £30 million for the Italy international – described by Real Madrid star Luka Modric as ‘a pure talent’ to Gazzetta dello Sport last month (click here to read more) – in the summer of 2019, but Roma wanted much more, according to the report.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Zaniolo has made 15 starts and eight substitute appearances in Serie A for Roma this season, scoring six goals and providing one assist in the process.

The youngster has also made five starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for the Italian club this campaign, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the attacking midfielder scored four goals and provided two assists in Serie A and scored two goals in the Europa League for Roma, according to WhoScored.
