According to The Chronicle, the prospective new owners of Newcastle United plan to name the East Stand after a club legend and the number nine bar after Alan Shearer.

Shearer is one of the greatest players to have ever played for Newcastle and is hugely popular among the St. James’ Park faithful.

It has been reported that the prospective new owners of the Magpies are thinking of naming the number nine bar after Shearer and the East Stand after a club legend.

The bar was called Shearer’s Bar until 2013 when it was changed, as reported by The Daily Mail at the time.

According to The Chronicle, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund will own 80% of Newcastle when the takeover goes through.

Shearer is a club legend and icon, and renaming the club bar after him will be very popular among the fans.
