According to Eurosport, Arsenal could be able to sign Martin Odegaard on a permanent contract from Real Madrid for £40 million plus add-ons.

The report has claimed that although Odegaard has a release clause of €350 million (£302.07 million), ‘third-party sources are indicating’ that the true value of the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is £40 million.

It has been further claimed that Arsenal are planning to negotiate with Madrid at the end of the season and are hopeful that they can come to an arrangement over a deal, either another loan or a permanent contract.

Odegaard joined the Gunners on loan from Madrid in the January transfer window until the end of the season.

The Norway international has impressed former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell and his teammate Calum Chambers among others.

For £40 million, the attacking midfielder could prove to be a bargain signing, especially as he is just 22 year of age now.

Odegaard has scored one goal in 474 minutes in the Premier League and has scored one goal in 295 minutes in the Europa League for Arsenal, according to WhoScored.
