According to Bild, some English clubs are reconsidering their stance on the European Super League, with Liverpool reportedly growing ‘increasingly doubtful’ about the project after fan backlash.

The plans to launch this new breakaway competition were announced on Sunday night, and as we all know, it has been a whirlwind 48 hours since the news broke, with fans protesting up and down the country,

Meanwhile, the media has completely slammed the idea, leading to increased scrutiny from fans.

It seems as though the clubs are listening to the pleas, with Bild reporting that some clubs are reconsidering their stance after what they describe as an ‘uprising’ against the plans.

The report states that the Premier League clubs weren’t anticipating a ‘wave of anger’ after the announcement, and that Liverpool in particular are questioning their stance.

Of course, whether or not they go back on their plans remains to be seen, Florentino Perez reckons that the contracts signed by these clubs are binding.

It seems as though the tide may be turning in terms of the club’s stances on the European Super League, and as ever, this goes to show that fans’ voices do matter and that supporters can make a difference in football.

We’re sure most football supporters are joining us in crossing our fingers and hoping that this ridiculous idea doesn’t go ahead.
