Report: How Eddie Howe feels about Tottenham Hotspur job

Tottenham Hotspur could be on the look out for a new manager, if Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t turn his side’s results around soon.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe would not be put off by Tottenham Hotspur’s financial structure.

Tottenham have the lowest net spend of the top six in recent years, with Mauricio Pochettino often not being able to invest in his squad without selling.

Tottenham did spend fairly heavily in the past transfer window, but that was after 18 months without a signing.

Tottenham’s squad seems to have gone stale, and Pochettino’s future has now come into sharp focus.

The Mail claim that there are already a number of potential candidates to replace Pochettino circling, but Jose Mourinho may have some reluctance to take over the job due to the financial restraints which would be placed upon him.

Howe, though, it is said would have no such issues if given the chance at Tottenham.

Back in 2018, Howe was tipped to be Spurs’s first choice to replace Pochettino when he does leave, as the English boss has done an impressive job at Bournemouth.

The Cherries are now an established Premier League side and they have done so while playing an attacking brand of football.

Howe would be making a big step up if he did move to Spurs, but he has shown innovative methods at Bournemouth and there is a feeling that he is ready for a chance at a bigger club.

Pochettino, of course, still remains in charge at Spurs for the time being, and the Argentine has recently suggested he is keen to stick around for the long term.

But Tottenham’s form has been woeful throughout 2019, and there is a realisation that unless results change then the pressure will only continue to rise on Pochettino.
