But Ashley, who has been a firm supporter of Bruce since he took charge, feels that Newcastle remains low on his list of priorities at the moment.
The Newcastle owner apparently is more focused on his other businesses, despite the club being in relegation trouble.
That is sure to raise alarm bells among Newcastle supporters, who are concerned with the direction that Bruce is taken them in.
Newcastle looked well clear of the drop zone at one stage, but an awful run of form has seen Fulham make serious ground on them.

With Callum Wilson now out, the Magpies are struggling to score, even with Bruce shifting his tactical system.
Bruce has barely any support among the fan base right now, with many feeling that he is taking the club backwards.
But even if Newcastle lose to Wolves this weekend it seems that there is little chance of Bruce going, given Ashley’s current reported stance on the matter.
