According to The Daily Record, Celtic are exploring other options after stalemate over talks over signing Vasilios Barkas from AEK Athens.

It has been reported that there are no agreements between Celtic and AEK despite the Glasgow giants increasing their initial offer.

AEK want £6.5 million as transfer fee for the Greece international goalkeeper, and the Hoops are now exploring other options, as manager Neil Lennon attempts to bring in at least one new goalkeeper before the start of the new season in August, according to the report.

Sport24 recently reported that Celtic have offered the 26-year-old an annual salary of €580,000 (£528,515.71) plus bonuses.

Back in for Fraser Forster?

Could Celtic go back in for Fraser Forster, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the Glasgow giants from Southampton?

Lennon told The Scottish Sun this month that although he wants the goalkeeper back at the club, the Englishman does not want a loan move.

However, with The Express reporting that Southampton are willing to offload Forster this summer, perhaps the Glasgow giants could go back in for him in the coming days.
