According to The Scottish Mail (print edition, page 131, May 17, 2020), Newcastle United are considering making a £25 million bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

The report has claimed that although Celtic’s initial £40 million asking price will not be met, the Hoops could bag a total of £35 million including add-ons from the deal.

Edouard and his representatives view Newcastle as an attractive next step in the striker’s career, with Arsenal also interested in him, according to the report.

Good signing for Newcastle United

One suspects that Newcastle making an offer and signing Edouard depends on the proposed takeover of the club, with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund hoping to own 80% of the club, as reported by The Times.

The 22-year-old is a very talented and promising young striker who is ready to take the next step in his career and make a move to the Premier League.

According to WhoScored, the Frenchman has scored 22 goals in the Scottish Premiership and three goals in the Europa League for Celtic so far this season.
