Mauricio Pochettino had wanted Dani Ceballos at Tottenham Hotspur, but he is set to sign for Arsenal.

Tottenham and Arsenal have both been interested in signing the Real Madrid playmaker this summer, but it is Arsenal who have won the race.
The Gunners are expected to complete a loan deal for the Spanish youngster in the near future, and Emery has moved to assure him that he will play regularly at the Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly couldn’t give Ceballos the same promises of regular game-time, which opened the door for Arsenal to swoop.
Arsenal fans have widely celebrated the imminent signing of Ceballos, and for good reason.
The 22-year-old looked a star at the European under-21 Championships with Spain, and his technical quality should enhance the creative options available to Emery next term.
However, Spurs not being able to promise Ceballos game-time does rather show the gap between the two side’s squads right now.

Spurs have a midfield stacked with talent, and the expected arrival of Giovani Lo Celso gives them an enviable line-up of creators.
If Christian Eriksen stays, Spurs will have the Dane alongside Dele Alli and Lo Celso to pick from.
Signing Ceballos would have been unnecessary for them at that point.
And while Ceballos does look like an excellent signing for Arsenal, given their need for more creative options in midfield, the transfer shouldn’t be seen as them scoring a major victory over Tottenham.
