There might be more bad news on the horizon for Arsenal.
The Gunners kicked off their campaign in the Premier League with a dismal 2-0 defeat away to Brentford on Friday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side were played off the park by a team who were in the Championship last season.
Even though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were injured, it underlined Arsenal’s need for another goalscorer, with teenager Folarin Balogun struggling up front last night.
U-turn
Tammy Abraham has been heavily linked with a move to North London from Chelsea and it was widely reported that the 23-year-old, being a fan of the Emirates Stadium club, was keen on the switch.
But Di Marzio reported only hours after the defeat that Abraham was now closing in on a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma, in what’d be a £34 million deal.
The report added that the player had now become convinced of a transfer to the Italian capital and missing him would be another cruel blow for Arteta and Edu.
The North Londoners aren’t linked to that many strikers, with Lautaro Martinez being the other major one but that also seems unlikely, with Inter Milan valuing him at £76 million.
There’s only a few weeks left in the transfer window and not only do Arsenal need a striker, but also a playmaker and this defeat isn’t going to do their chances of signing either much good at all.
