According to the Daily Mail, Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter is a key name on the wish list of Tottenham Hotspur’s technical director Steve Hitchen.
Spurs parted ways with Jose Mourinho in April, and must now attempt to find a replacement ahead of next season.
A host of linked managers have slipped through the net, including Julian Nagelsmann, Jesse Marsch and Erik ten Hag, meaning Daniel Levy must go back to the drawing board.
Levy isn’t the only man involved in the decision though, as director Hitchen will have a big say too, as the most senior ‘football man’ at the club.
It’s now suggested that Hitchen has Potter high on his list of targets, and a host of others at Tottenham also admire the Brighton boss.
Hitchen will allegedly send his wish list to Levy, with Potter believed to be a key name on that list despite Brighton being down in 14th place.
The Seagulls have been creating chances for fun this season thanks to Potter’s progressive style of play, but haven’t quite had the clinical edge to take those opportunities, meaning they have been at the wrong end of the table for much of the season.

Potter has still earned praise for his approach, and Tottenham’s forward-thinking players would surely love to play in such a system after Mourinho’s fairly conservative style.
Hitchen is right to have been impressed by Potter, but much will now depend on whether Levy accepts that recommendation, going with an up-and-coming, fairly low-profile coach rather than a big-name boss.
That approach didn’t exactly work with Mourinho, but with the Daily Mail also claiming that Potter’s chances are receding due to Levy wanting a bigger name, Hitchen may be left somewhat frustrated.
