Everton playmaker Kieran Dowell is reportedly set to join Nottingham Forest on loan.

According to the Nottingham Post, Everton youngster Kieran Dowell will join Nottingham Forest on loan for the season on Wednesday.

Mark Warburton has faced his first transfer window as Forest boss, and has so far brought in Tendayi Darikwa, Andreas Bouchalakis, Barrie McKay, Jason Cummings and Daryl Murphy to boost his squad.

Warburton is still in the market for attacking reinforcements though, and he is set to land another new signing on Wednesday ahead of the start of the Championship season.

The Nottingham Post report that Everton talent Kieran Dowell will join Forest on a season-long loan deal on Wednesday, having been touted for a huge future at Goodison Park.

Dowell, 19, has come up through the ranks at Everton having joined way back in 2005, and he has starred for the club’s youth and development teams in recent years.

Whilst Dowell has made two first-team appearances and has featured in pre-season, he does find himself behind the likes of Kevin Mirallas, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ademola Lookman, Aaron Lennon and new signing Sandro Ramirez in the pecking order at Goodison Park.

Now, with Ronald Koeman keen for the teenager to go out and play regularly, he will be heading to Forest to learn and develop under Warburton for the entirety of this season.

Dowell, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, featured for England at the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea earlier this summer, and he could now make his Forest debut on the opening day of the season against Millwall on Friday night.
