Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United would reportedly have to pay £40 million in transfer fees for Crystal Palace central defender Joachim Andersen.

The Guardian have reported that Newcastle United want to sign Joachim Andersen from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Palace will want at least £40 million in transfer fees for the 27-year-old Denmark international central defender.

Could Newcastle United sign Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace?

In our opinion, Newcastle United could be able to sign Joachim Andersen from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Palace are a big and established club in the Premier League, but the Magpies will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

And under owners PIF and manager Eddie Howe, Newcastle will be determined to become regulars in the Premier League top four in the coming years.

So, Andersen could be tempted to make the move from Palace to Newcastle.

A transfer fee of £40 million is not really much for a player who is 27 and is at the top of his game at the moment, and who is a “highly-rated defender”, according to Palace chairman Steve Parish on the club’s official website.
