Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty could leave Ibrox permanently this summer.

According to The Scottish Sun, Hibernian are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty if he becomes available this summer.
Docherty, 22, impressed with Hamilton Academical having come through the ranks at New Douglas Park, and his displays attracted interest from boyhood club Rangers in January 2018.
The midfielder unsurprisingly jumped at a £650,000 move to Ibrox having grown up supporting Rangers, and whilst he featured regularly under Graeme Murty, he found himself down the pecking order under Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard loaned the Scot out to Shrewsbury Town, and the move has been a masterstroke, as Docherty has excelled with the League One side, racking up 10 goals and 11 assists.
When Docherty returns to Rangers in a matter of weeks, he’ll find a whole host of midfielders blocking his path to first-team football, meaning he may need to move on – and The Scottish Sun claim Hibs would offer him an escape route.
Hibernian head of recruitment Graeme Mathie has allegedly been making checks on Docherty, and whilst Celtic’s Scott Allan is arriving this summer, Hibs would be keen to sign Docherty, even on loan.

Rangers would face a real dilemma over Docherty, as he clearly has huge potential, but Gerrard has a number of midfielders ahead of him, such as Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis.
A loan move may be the best way forward for Rangers, but whether Docherty would want to be farmed out once again remains to be seen.
