According to the Daily Mail, Rangers have been given permission to register Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera for next week’s Europa League clash with Progres Niederkorn – despite not officially being Gers players yet.
Rangers made it six summer signings on Monday with Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos penning a three-year deal with the club from HJK Helsinki, joining Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Daniel Candeias and Dalcio at Ibrox.

Manager Pedro Caixinha will still be pursuing new signings though as his revolution at Ibrox hits full speed, and two more players are waiting to be confirmed as signings seven and eight.
Chivas Guadalajara midfielder Carlos Pena and UNAM striker Eduardo Herrera have been on the verge of joining Rangers for weeks now, having submitted work permit applications to play in Scotland.
Carlos Pena in action for Mexico
The two Mexican internationals are waiting for paperwork to be finalised before starting their Rangers careers, but the Daily Mail report that both players have been cleared to play in the Europa League qualifier against Progres Niederkorn next week – despite not even being Rangers players yet.
The Gers will return to European action against the Luxembourg outfit at Ibrox next week, and both Pena and Herrera could feature having been included in the squad submitted to UEFA.
Eduardo Herrera
Midfielder Pena, 27, will join Rangers from Chivas Guadalajara following a loan spell with fellow Mexican side Club Leon, and he should provide physicality as well as goals from midfield.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old striker Herrera will provide a physical target man for Caixinha to build around, and the pair even worked together at Santos Laguna, meaning their Ibrox reunion is drawing ever closer.
