Eupen star Henry Onyekuru has reportedly met with Everton and Southampton.
General view inside Goodison Park
According to Own Goal Nigeria, Everton and Southampton have already met with Eupen attacker Henry Onyekuru about a summer transfer.
Onyekuru, 19, joined Belgian side Eupen from the Aspire Academy in 2015, and helped them win promotion to the Jupiler Pro League last season.
This term, the Nigerian attacker – who can play up front or out wide – has established himself as one of the top young players in Belgium, smashing 19 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
Onyekuru’s exploits are unsurprisingly attracting major attention, with Eupen almost certainly facing up to life without their star forward this summer.
Southampton team huddle up
Now, Own Goal Nigeria report that Onyekuru has already met with Everton and Southampton about a summer move to England, with both clubs looking to win for the race for his signature.
Liverpool are also believed to be keen on signing Onyekuru this summer, with Borussia Monchengladbach seemingly out of the race given that Eupen are now demanding a huge €15million (£12.75million) for his services.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates after the match
Whoever wins the race for Onyekuru will be landing a pacey attacker with superb quality in front of goal, and whilst it’s a steep price for his signature, both Everton and Southampton should be looking to invest in top young talent like Onyekuru.
Celtic had a speculative £1million bid rejected for Onyekuru in January, as reported by The Scottish Sun, and whilst the forward did hint that the Bhoys were interested last month (Daily Record), it seems that Brendan Rodgers men can also be ruled out by the new asking price, with a move to England looking more and more likely for the teenager.
