According to the Daily Mail, Eupen attacker Henry Onyekuru is set to fly to London in the next 48 hours – but looks poised to join West Ham United instead of Arsenal.
Onyekuru, 20, joined Eupen from the Aspire Academy in 2015, and after helping the club win promotion to the Jupiler Pro League last year, he has taken Belgian football by storm over the past campaign.

The Nigerian forward smashed a superb 24 goals in 41 games this past season whilst also adding nine assists; statistics which have unsurprisingly triggered huge interest around Europe.
As reported by Sky Sports last month, Arsenal agreed a £6.8million fee to sign Onyekuru, with Arsene Wenger seemingly viewing him as a player for the future at the Emirates Stadium.

Now though, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have hijacked Onyekuru’s move, and with the player flying into London on Tuesday, it’s believed that he will be heading to the London Stadium instead.
Onyekuru is desperate to play first-team football when he makes his move this summer, and he allegedly believes that joining West Ham gives him a better chance of playing regularly than joining Arsenal, who already have a host of attacking players.

It’s even claimed that Onyekuru could undergo a medical with West Ham this week ahead of a £7million switch, with the Hammers potentially landing something of a shock coup ahead of the Gunners.
With pace, a real goal threat and huge potential, Onyekuru could make a major impact with West Ham, and it’s somewhat refreshing to see a talented young player choose first-team opportunities ahead of a perceivably ‘bigger’ club.
