Aston Villa could move for Thierry Henry as their new manager this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa could move for Thierry Henry as a replacement for Steve Bruce this summer following new investment at Villa Park.
Villa have been in dire financial straits all summer having missed out on promotion back to the Premier League with a 1-0 Championship play-off final defeat to Fulham in May, with many expecting an exodus to raise funds.
Jack Grealish and James Chester remain at the club though, and Villa’s hopes of keeping them – or at least raising their demands for them – have been boosted.
On Friday, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens bought 55% of the club from Tony Xia, effectively making them majority shareholders and decision-makers at Villa Park, even if Xia is staying at Villa Park.
Steve Bruce’s future may now be in question given that new decision-makers are at the club, and the Daily Mail report that Villa could move for Thierry Henry as their new manager.
Henry, 40, has been working on Roberto Martinez’s coaching staff with the Belgium national team for the last two years, and was one of his coaches at the World Cup in Russia this summer as Belgium finished third.

The Frenchman has quit his punditry responsibilities with Sky Sports in order to pursue a career as a manager, with Sawiris and Eden seemingly considering a move to hand Henry his first managerial gig.
An Arsenal legend with 226 goals in 369 games for the Gunners, Henry would be an exciting, big-name appointment, but a major risk compared to the tried-and-tested Bruce, and it remains to be seen what Villa’s new regime decide.
