The Northern Echo has reported that Henri Saviet will leave Newcastle United on loan within 24 hours.

The Senegal midfielder looks set to join Turkish outfit Bursaspor on a season-long loan imminently.

Turkish outlet Olay reported earlier this week that the 27-year-old – who has only managed five league appearances for the Magpies since joining in two-and-a-half years ago – was present to watch his would-be club in action at the weekend.

Saivet has been frozen out of the Newcastle side by manager Rafa Benitez and his chances of regular first-team football look ominous already this season.

On a reported £35,000 per week [Silly Season], Benitez will save the St James’s Park club over £1 million in wages if Bursaspor are the ones fronting the entirety of his salary, but the financial details of the proposal have not been revealed as of yet.

The former Bordeaux star threw himself a lifeline at Newcastle last season by scoring in a 3-2 win at West Ham United in London.

But that was his only Premier League appearance of the 2017-18 campaign and he joined Sivasspor on loan in January.
