It doesn’t look like former Glasgow Rangers ace Charlie Adam will be returning to Ibrox, after previous comments in November.
Rangers remain hot on the heels of Steven Davis it seems.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that Southampton are willing to let the 34-year-old – who celebrated a birthday today – re-sign for Rangers.
The report added that the veteran midfielder is even open to taking a pay cut, just to facilitate his Gers transfer after previously spending four years at Ibrox.
But could a double reunion be on the cards? Well, probably not.
Charlie Adam, who played alongside Davis in Rangers’ midfield, made headlines in November when he said to Sky Sports that it’d be ‘great’ if he could re-sign for the Glasgow giants.
But it looks like another Scottish club is on prowl, as The Scottish Sun claim that Hearts boss Craig Levein is weighing up a ‘shock’ move for the 33-year-old.
Adam has made three appearances for Stoke this season and seems like he is surplus to requirements.
The report adds that Hearts’ apparent interest would alert other Scottish Premiership sides, but at this juncture it seems very unlikely that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will be interested.
