Leeds United’s players were left seriously impressed by Diego Llorente after just a few training sessions, Phil Hay reports in the Athletic.
Llorente joined Leeds last summer and the Elland Road crowd have only really seen what he can do recently.
The Spaniard has caught the eye in Leeds last two games, with his performances at the back looking very commanding.
The 27-year-old had previously struggled badly with injury, but the Leeds’ squad were in no doubt of his quality.
Sources have apparently told the Athletic that Llorente caught the eye at Thorp Arch almost immediately with the Leeds team all very impressed with his initial impact.
Llorente is said to have settled quickly in England, despite his fitness problems, and is well thought of around the club.

It could now be that Llorente has a key part to play for Leeds between now and the end of the campaign.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have rarely been able to pick a consistent central defensive pairing due to injuries.
But Liam Cooper and Llorente look to be the club’s first choice duo for the time being, and it could remain that way for weeks now, if Llorente continues with his current form.
