Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce remains under huge pressure.

According to Calciomercato.it, manager Andrea Stramaccioni is interested in becoming Aston Villa manager should Steve Bruce lose his job.
Villa boss Bruce is under huge pressure after the 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, with fans calling for him to be replaced.
With just three wins in the first nine league games of the season, and only one victory in the last seven, Villa aren’t impressing under Bruce, with the style of play seemingly too negative for many fans.
Fans are already suggesting the likes of Oscar Garcia and Quique Sanchez Flores for the job, but there appears to be one boss who already has eyes on the job if Bruce does end up being given his marching orders.
Calciomercato.it in Italy report that Andrea Stramacionni wants the job, as Villa have a rich history as well as real desire to build a project and return to the Premier League.
It’s stated that Villa made contact with Stramaccioni about a move this summer, but new owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris stuck with Bruce instead, in a decision with some may feel was a mistake.

Stramaccioni, 42, didn’t have a playing career to speak of as he retired with a knee injury aged just 19, and became a youth coach with Roma before Internazionale Primavera, he remarkably became Inter’s first-team boss in 2012.
Stramacionni won nearly 48% of his games as Inter boss but lasted just over a year, and he has become something of a nomad since, spending a year with Udinese, a year with Panathinaikos and less than a year with Sparta Prague.
Still a young coach who has a career win rate of around 41%, Stramaccioni may have more progressive ideas than Bruce, who is looking more and more like a manager who hasn’t moved with the times – but whether the Italian is still on the Villa radar remains to be seen.
