Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost ahead of their Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

Tottenham received a major boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday with Mauricio Pochettino confirming – in comments reported by the Daily Mirror – that Harry Kane is in contention to play against Los Blancos after the striker recovered from a hamstring injury.

But in a further boost for Spurs fans, the Mirror is now reporting that the 24-year-old will start at Wembley as Pochettino’s men attempt to continue their unbeaten start to the Champions League group-stages.

Kane has missed Tottenham’s last two games, and in his absence, the side have lost both. They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham and then beaten 1-0 away at Manchester United at the weekend.

But the Mirror is now suggesting that Kane will not only be back for Tottenham, but he will also start at Wembley in news that the Madrid defence probably did not want to hear.

Kane caused Zinedine Zidane’s men a number of problems in the Bernabeu in the reverse fixture a fortnight ago, and would have been the match winner had it not been for a stunning save from Keylor Navas.

And if Kane – who has a staggering 17 goals for club and country this term – proves to be the match winner this time around, then Tottenham will book their place in the knockout stages of the competition with two games to spare.
