Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is said to be close to signing a new deal with the club.

According to a report in the London Evening Standard (second edition, back page, 8th June), Harry Kane is close to signing a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane is currently on a deal worth £100,000-a-week, but Spurs are said to be prepared to double his current earnings.
Kane will immediately become one of the highest paid players in the Premier League, and it will show a big shift in policy from Daniel Levy.

Levy has previously set a low cap on Tottenham’s wages, with the north London club paying salaries well below what their top four rivals are offering.
But Tottenham now are seemingly ready to pay big to ensure that Kane stays at the club.

Kane has scored over 25 goals in the Premier League for three seasons running, and has established himself as one of the finest strikers in world football.
Kane has previously suggested that he could spend his entire career at Tottenham, and if he does sign a new deal then it should end any uncertainty over his future with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
