Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will meet chairman Daniel Levy on Wednesday to reassess their transfer plans in January, according to a report.

The Evening Standard claims that the club could potentially dip into the transfer market if the injuries suffered by Spurs duo Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko are severe.

It is said that Pochettino’s top priority since the end of last season has been a new midfielder as the club could make moves in the final few weeks of the window if Sissoko is sidelined for a period of time.

The 29-year-old, who is naturally a winger, has been deployed in a midfield role by his manager this season and the Frenchman has defied critics by producing top quality performances.

Sissoko started in the middle of the park for Tottenham during their home clash against Manchester United at the weekend but he was substituted before the break with an injury.

Added with that, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama have played 17 Premier League games between one another this season as they are also on the sidelines.

The report states that Tottenham have been looking in La Liga for a new midfielder as Pochettino is relaxed about replacing the injured Kane because he has Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura available.

The club confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that Kane will be out of action until early March after preliminary assessments revealed that he has damaged ligaments in his left ankle.
