West Ham United are said to be tracking the Swiss, who was the subject of a failed bid from Crystal Palace in January.

Hamburg’s Johan Djourou is interesting West Ham United, Bild reports.

The former Arsenal defender is said to have been subject to an approach from Crystal Palace in January, but remained in Germany.

With his deal expiring this summer, however, Djourou could yet make a return to English football next season, with West Ham a possibility.

The Hammers can approach the Switzerland defender immediately given his contract situation, as they did with another ex-Arsenal player Havard Nordtveit a year ago.

As with the Norwegian, however, Djourou would not become an official West Ham player until the transfer window opens in July.

Hammers chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold were at Birmingham City when the 30-year-old joined the Blues on loan in 2007.

The 65-cap centre-back also played for Hannover 96 on loan, before moving from Arsenal to Hamburg in 2014.

Would Djourou be a good signing for West Ham United?
